1 Scott & White Health Plan was one of the highest ranked health plans in the state of Texas, and Scott & White Health Plan's Medicare plans were ranked highest in Texas in U.S. News & World Report's publication "America's Best Health Plans 2007." (November 5, 2007 issue of U.S. News & World Report or http://www.usnews.com). U.S. News and the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the major accrediting body for managed-care health plans, joined forces to rank hundreds of the nation's HMO plans based on quality. The ranking includes whether a plan is accredited by NCQA and 30 measures that are grouped into four categories:
- Access to care
- Overall member satisfaction
- Prevention
- Treatment
